Echoes

A short distance from the main road through Zion National Park lies this quiet scene of a pine tree clinging to life on a stone pinnacle.  Photographers worldwide have captured it during the day with a wide variety of creative and pleasing compositions.  Far fewer have photographed it at night.  I shot several complete scenes and this one is my favorite.  The light painted pinnacle and pine tree are the focal points.  The light colored background mountain adds interest and depth.  Lastly, the more subtle northern leg of the Milky Way adds visual interest to the autumn sky and additional depth to this colorful scene.
