Breathe

In the stillness of Nelson Ghost Town, this weathered trailer and rusted car stand as quiet echoes of lives once in motion. Beneath a windy night sky, softened star trails drift above them like time made visible, while the desert holds its silence below. As I added light to the darkness, textures of metal, glass, and dust slowly emerged, revealing not just age, but memory. What moved me most was the contrast between motion and stillness, between the restless sweep of the heavens and these grounded remains of another era. Breathe invites a pause with that feeling, where solitude, history, and time seem to meet in a single fragile moment.
Breathe received First Prize in Color at the 2021 National Photography Show, a juried photography exhibition at Lincoln Gallery in Loveland, Colorado.
